Active Aging

How it works

Longevity training is a strategic approach to fitness to increase your quality of living as you age. With consistent strength training, endurance exercise, mobility work and healthy dietary choices, you can maintain (or even improve) physical function and cognitive health. Our bodies lose bone density and muscle mass naturally as we age... unless we do something about it!

Benefits of each program

Fall Risk Assessment

Multiple clinical practice guidelines recommend screening all adults age 65 and older for falls. Patients who have had a single fall should undergo a gait and balance assessment. And those who have had multiple falls within a year should be evaluated more thoroughly to determine their fall risks and to attempt to mitigate those identified risks.

Osteoporosis Management

Osteoporosis is a chronic condition characterized by bone mass and density loss, leading to an increased risk of fractures.Regular exercise is an important part of keeping your bones strong and healthy. People with a moderate to high risk of fracture or with functional limitations benefit from working with a physical therapist. Cape Concierge PT can create a custom program to lower the chances of future injury. For preventing osteoporosis and osteoporotic fractures, we recommend a long-term exercise program designed to improve postural stability, mobility, and movement efficiency. This goes alongside increasing vitamin D and calcium intakes. Physical therapy can also help people with osteoporosis recover from fractures.

Get up from the ground

The #1 reason why people fall is because they are afraid to fall. What if we remove that fear, by teaching you how to fall and how to get back up. This is a skill that can be learned. Keep your loved ones and their caregivers safe by empowering them with confidence.

Strength Training

These sessions are tailored towards the age, fitness level, and personal goals of each client. Whether you are an athlete looking to build strength in the off season or are part of our wonderful geriatric population of Cape Cod and never want to live in a nursing home, we have a program for you! Strength is not only the key to elite athletic performance, but also the key to being able to get yourself off the ground in your 90's. No matter your age, gender, or fitness level, it is never too late or too early to start building muscle and living a happier and healthier life.

Palliative Care

Palliative care is specialized medical care for people living with a serious illness. This type of care is focused on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of the illness. The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family. Palliative care is based on the needs of the patient, not on the patient’s prognosis. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness, and it can be provided along with curative treatment. Cape Concierge Physical Therapy is currently providing palliative care to many clients in Assisted Living Facilities, Skilled Nursing Homes, as well as their own homes.
