Female Athlete Wellness Workshop

Be Strong from the Inside Out
As a Mother, Coach and Athlete, I know we can do better for our young athletes. At Cape Concierge PT, we strive to help athletes get physically strong and recover from injury so they can play their sport. But what if we need to do more then strengthen our muscles?
Female Athlete Wellness Workshop
My latest passion project was inspired by a conversation I was having with a fellow parent at a weekend lacrosse tournament. Tess Powell and I were discussing how much anxiety we see in our young female patients and how that anxiety can affect their physical health. Tess is a Doctor of Psychology, currently working at Milton Academy. She is one of six dynamic speakers that have volunteered their time to help our community of female athletes.
Strength comes in many forms. The goal of this workshop is to provide attendees with knowledge to strengthen their brain, body and spirit. Attendees will leave this workshop with a great understanding of how nutrition and hydration allow your body to perform on and off the athletic field. We are lucky enough to have 2 Registered Dietitians to present: Stacy Richmond and Elise Steiner.
Our own Kara McKeown will empower participants to understand the difference between injury and pain. Sergeant Lauren Gilrein from Sandwich Police Department with arm our audience with information about personal safety. Dr. Roshann Hooshmand from Cape Cod Pediatrics will be discussing the menstrual cycle and it's effect on athletic performance.
Please share this with all middle school, high school and college aged female athletes who will benefit from being stronger from the inside out. Let's work toegher to empower our community of female athletes.
